Putumayo World Music, $15.
The newest Putumayo Kids release is your child’s pint-size doorway into the world of jazz. Chris McKhool’s snappy rendition of the Spider-Man theme song gives the webbed one a swinging makeover; retro crooner Ingrid Lucia creates a kiddie classic with gospel fave “This Little Light of Mine”; and Barbara Morrison delivers a cool, lounge-worthy version of “Sing a Song of Sixpence.” In true Putumayo fashion, the disc is an international block party, and English isn’t the only language tots will hear: The delightfully French “Sur le Pont D’Avignon” shares the spotlight with the Caribbean rhythms of “Cumbamba” and the bossa-tinged “Dois meninos.”—Jeff Bogle
