We're proud to announce our new arrival: TOC's very own Kids magazine. Congratulations are in order!
Kids have a ball at this innovative indoor playground, but play is no longer the Chelsea facility’s sole raison d’être. Earlier this fall, mom owners Alison Berna and Allison Schlanger introduced a salon and an eatery, transforming the space into a one-stop shop for New York City families (it also houses clothing, book and toy boutiques). An on-site barber provides children’s haircuts ($28), plus updos, French braids, blowouts and even adult dry cuts. A vintage-car chair, a flat-screen TV, toys and bubbles distract your tot from the scissors’ snips. The new café, with an entertainment station for kids, serves organic cheeses on grilled whole-wheat toast, baked sweet potato fries and organic turkey mini-meatballs. We just hope young ones take time to digest before hitting the climbing area. For venue information, see Play Spaces.
