After becoming a mom to Finn, 3, and Noé, 2, hairstylist Patricia Kirkland decided to morph her successful downtown salon, Tricia’s Place, into a combined beauty parlor and kids’ clothing boutique. Kirkland, who cuts and colors hair in the back, stocks the store with colorful, trendy wares for children ages newborn to four from designers like Pink Chicken, Imps & Elves, and Kate Quinn Organic. In addition to the racks of clothes, the shop carries Alpana stuffed elephants, Plan toys, and jewelry (designed by Kirkland herself) for mom and baby. Work from area artists and designers lines the walls, and Kirkland hosts monthly art shows with her husband, Jean-Baptiste, the owner of Wine Therapy, a speciality and organic wine shop located next door. It’s a true New York City trifecta: primping, shopping and drinking.
