FREE Wildflower Week Celebration
Sat May 9 10am–2pm. Various locations; visit nycwildflowerweek.org for info.
Most kids don’t have the moolah to buy a fancy bouquet, but at various green destinations all over the city, including the Battery Conservancy, Solar One and the Liz Christy Garden, families can enjoy nature walks, gardening, eco-games and other activities. All ages.
Mother's Day Tea Celebration
Sat May 9 10–11:15am. Kurve, 87 Second Ave at 5th St (212-260-8018, cupcakekids.com). Subway: D, F to Broadway–Lafayette St; 6 to Astor Pl. $70 per mother-child pair.
Moms shouldn’t have to cook or bake today—and Cupcake Kids makes sure they don't. In this class, kids whip up scones and sandwiches while mamas lie back, sip some sweet tea and wait for treats. Ages 2 to 8.
