Description
In this musical adaptation of Doreen Cronin’s popular children’s book, a group of farm friends band together to protest their working conditions and low pay. Silly lyrics from Kevin Del Aguila and upbeat music by Brad Alexander are a promising sign that the Theatreworks production will keep young viewers laughing. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the theater one hour prior to the performance. Parents take note: The show has been selling out, so arrive early if you want to be sure to get in. Also, babies are not allowed! We don't want anyone to be disappointed. Ages 4 to 9.

I came 1 hour before the show. I had to wait in the sun with my little girl but I think it was worth it. Very nice show. the people were not rude. Some parents are just mad and disappointed when they are told that they can't bring a baby in. that s the rule...suck it up people!
After taking 3 trains in 90 degree heat with babes in tow, we were met with Lucielle Lortelles rude staff. They have a policy; no babies, but how they delivered that message was totally uncalled for. The Lucielle Lortelle house manager and Box office personnel should not work on a childrens show or for that matter in the customer service industry. They left my friend in tears. Awful experience.
What is even more shocking/ irritating is that after calling Theatre Works USA and the Lucille Lortel Foundation to raise our complaints about the extremely hostile and unprofessional staff we were offered seats at the next show. All of the sudden our kids were "old" enough. Again shame on you for not having a clear policy, for allowing discriminatory behavior and most of all allowing this behavior in front of young children.
Then the Theater mgr Christine Kovach explained in a very hostile manner: kids under the age of 2 (bc at the time all kids there were under the recommended age of 4) are NOT ALLOWED in the theater. Kids are admitted using her discretion. She could NOT say how decisions were made. "Just that parents have a tendency to lie about the kids age"(?) She came up w many arbitrary rules on the spot. Rules NOT stated on the website, in brochure or when calling. Very DISCRIMINATORY behavior! Shame on you!
Arrived w. a group of mothers, all w kids under the age of 2. Myself and my daughter were the only ones in our group that were not admitted to the theater even though my daughter walks (no stroller policy) and sits on her own (no babes in arm policy). The box mgr Michel refused to give me tickets bc I referred to my daughter as a baby. When realizing that she was not a "baby" he rudely explained that he would give me tickets bc he could not legally refuse me but made clear we would not be let in
I have never encountered such rude & unprofessional people. Extremely disappointing & frightening to experience how parents and caregivers are treated and spoken to by the Lucille Lortel Theatre & TheatreWorks USA personnel. Especially for a production that prides itself as "doing good" as serving as a platform for much-needed family time.
Husband and son showed up 1 1/2 hours before showtime, were 4th in line and did not get tickets because 250 seats were being held for camp groups. Sad.
No babies! When I arrived with my kindergartener and 1 year old, they would not give me tickets. Very disappointing!
